How to prepare a Brain Cake
To start preparing the Brain Cake recipe you must make a Red Velvet sponge cake in a round bowl to ensure the perfect appearance. With a knife remove it from the container and then cut it until it looks like the picture shown below.
*It can also be made with a sponge cake.
After having the ideal shape of a brain, cover it with syrup and butter to make the cake stick together and look moist as if you had actually taken it out of a human recently. Put it in the refrigerator for a long time and then remove it to add the butter once more.
With fondant paste you will make the shape of the brain tissue. Make large strips so that you can cover the entire cake without leaving any space. With a blade you can cut to the size you want the paste to be, remember that the more it folds, the better it looks. Do not forget to cover both the upper part of the brain with the paste and the base part.
Once you’re done with the fondant, use strawberry jam and a kitchen brush to make the blood effect. No matter how much of it you use, because the more it has it will look much more terrifying and less edible (which will be much better because the more repulsion it causes the better you have done it).
The final shape of the cake should be similar to or equal to the one in the photo. Do not forget that you need to make a separation between the pastes so that they look like the hemispheres.
If you want to make it much more scary, you could tear it up a bit with your hands to surprise the guests or judges of the contest from the first second.
